Moving Company Facebook & Instagram Ads
The average person spends weeks thinking about a move before they book one. Google catches them on the last day of that process. Meta lets you be present for all of it.
What Meta Ads Are Actually Good For in Moving
Meta advertising is a demand creation and recovery channel, and if you judge it by search-ad standards it will look like it failed. The person scrolling Instagram was not looking for a mover. That means lower intent per click, a longer path to conversion, and a much cheaper click.
Used correctly it does three things nothing else does as well:
It recovers abandoned quotes. This is the highest-return campaign available to most moving companies and almost nobody runs it. Someone started your quote flow, got to step three, and left. They are still moving. Retargeting them for the next thirty days costs very little and converts far better than cold traffic ever will.
It reaches the consideration window. People know they are moving weeks or months before they book. Being visible during that window, with content about how to plan a move rather than a hard offer, means you are the familiar name when they finally start comparing.
It targets where movers concentrate. Apartment complexes with high turnover, new construction developments, neighborhoods with heavy listing activity, and the corridors your trucks already run. Geographic precision is Meta's real strength for this industry.
The Meta Campaigns We Run for Moving Companies
Quote abandonment retargeting
The single highest-ROI Meta campaign in this industry. People who started a quote and did not finish, followed for 30 days with a simple prompt to pick back up. Cheap, high-converting, and almost universally skipped.
Site visitor retargeting
Anyone who viewed a service page and left, segmented by which service. Long distance visitors get long distance creative.
Apartment and complex targeting
Radius and pin-drop targeting around high-turnover complexes, student housing, and new developments, with creative and offers built for small moves.
Seasonal campaigns
Ramping ahead of peak season rather than during it, plus deliberate off-season campaigns aimed at flexible movers with discounted midweek and mid-month scheduling.
Commercial relocation prospecting
Job-title and interest targeting for office managers and facilities leads, paired with case study creative. Long cycle, high value, very little competition on this channel.
Creative that looks real
Crew footage, time-lapse loads, careful wrapping of furniture, and reviews on screen. Showing competence directly answers the fear that drives this purchase. Stock photos of a smiling couple with boxes do not.
Do Not Run Meta Ads Until Capture Is Handled
If your Google Business Profile is unoptimized, you do not show up for movers near me, and your quote flow is a nine-field contact form, running Meta ads is paying to create demand that someone else captures. Capture first. Create second. We will tell you if you are doing these in the wrong order.
How to Judge a Meta Campaign Without Fooling Yourself
Two failure modes, opposite directions, both common in this industry.
Underestimating it. Meta's reported conversions have become less reliable since iOS privacy changes, and moving has a long consideration window that wrecks last-click attribution. Somebody sees your ad in March, searches your brand in April, and books. Last-click hands that entirely to Google. Companies judging Meta on last-click routinely shut down campaigns that were working.
Overestimating it. The opposite trap is the platform claiming 60 conversions while your sales desk booked four moves. Instant forms in particular produce a lot of low-quality submissions, including people who are moving in nine months or moving out of your service area.
The way through is boring and effective: track leads in one place outside the ad platforms, use call tracking so phone conversions are attributed, ask every booked customer how they heard about you and log it, and watch total booked moves against total spend across all channels month over month, year over year. If total spend rises 20 percent and total booked moves rise 35 percent, the mix is working regardless of which platform claims credit.
